9/14/24 – Day 10 – Rolled

Woke up at 7:30, and headed to practice at 8 at First Dam. First dam is a popular swimming spot with a cool trail that runs up the canyon. It’s fun to run on! I ate a bowl of cereal and some yogurt pre-run, and mid run hit a gel. About 6 miles in, I rolled my ankle! What an unfortunate event. I was going to visit the trainer, but with the football game, I couldn’t make it and park before she left this morning, so I will visit her early Monday. In the meantime, I got a bag of ice, iced several times, wore compression socks for a few hours, and am working to recover as swiftly and unnoticeably as possible.

I kinda just did nothing all day. A tiny amount of homework, a tiny amount of video games, and a tiny bit of walking around. For dinner, I went to the marketplace, which is like a USU buffet. For 12 dollars, I ate an entire pizza, a whole chicken/rice bowl, a salad, a taco and some chips, a bowl of yogurt/granola, and a sprite. It was tasty!

There was some party going on tonight and I almost decided to go just to have something to do, but realized it would be poor for recovery as well as end up as me just sitting in a corner. Instead, I set up my TV in our living space and am watching Adam Sandler in Bedtime Stories. A tireless classic.

My little sister had a phenomenal race this morning! I’m super proud of her and her team. I’m hoping for quick ankle recovery, and I often take for granted how it feels to be very healthy and uninjured. Tomorrow, I’m going to go to church at 9, and then my roommate is giving a talk at his church at 12, so I will probably go to both of those, followed by a grocery trip, and FCA that night. It should be a good day!
