10/7/24 – Day 28 – Back in the Groove

Today was super mid, to be completely honest. I know I say that a lot, but I really mean it.

I woke up at 8ish, headed down to the fueling station for a nice big breakfast, then went to e training room to hop in the compression boots for a bit. My legs are shot from a weekend of traveling, so I’ll have to work extra hard to recover.

After this, I went home and showered, got ready for the day, etc. and such. I then went to the study hall to clock some time and work on some Economics homework. I can’t wait for school to be over and I’m just getting started.

Fast forward a bit because most of my day was the same as usual….

After accounting class, we had practice. Just an easy 8 miles today, and our workout will probably be pushed back to Thursday just to help with recovery purposes, which I am grateful for. We are fully locked in, getting ready for important meets now. Our team is ranked 5th in the region! How exciting.

Today was a full core day, so we did a core set, some med ball and band work, then another core set. Post practice, I hopped in the ice bath, then headed home. Today me and a few roommates (Ryan, Brit) and Brad all decided to go to a karaoke night (after going to Panda Express for Brit of course). It turned out to be very small, and lame (I might say mid), but we made it a good time by singing our hearts out. Me and Brad duetted on A Whole New World, and we all sang I Want it That Way. Needless to say though, it wasn’t the best karaoke set up, and we are definitely gonna host our own karaoke night soon, in Davis Hall. Stay tuned for that exciting madness…

I really miss my dog. Max, there’s literally 0 way for you to see this, but I miss you buddy. I’m excited to go home soon and see all my friends and family. I miss just watching movies before going to bed with my family. Half the time they were amazing movies, and half the time they were super uninteresting, but it was always special.

Two of my best friends back home are going on the annual weekend camping trip to Stanley, Idaho. I’m super bummed I couldn’t go this year.

Lots to be grateful for, a mid day is better than a bad day. I’m excited to get my body recovered and feel 100% again, and I’m excited to hangout with friends again soon. Everybody at Davis Hall has been either busy or gone! It’s been a weird feeling for sure.

I’m gonna end todays blog post with a classic and wholesome line that makes me smile every time I read it:

“Good morning, and in case I don’t see ya, good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight!”

-The Truman Show
