I woke up this morning, got some breakfast from the fueling station, then did some homework in study hall. My first class was at 1:30, so I basically just killed time til then.
After class, we had practice. Today’s workout was BRUTAL. We did 3 by mile (4:49, 4:48, 4:46) then a 1000m (71, 69, 33) and then two 600s (35, 33, 31). The crazy thing was, coach had me sit out one of the Ks and one of the 600s , so everybody did more than I did even! The workout was incredibly tough though, probably the hardest one I’ve done so far. My calves were exploding during this workout, and that’s why the coaches had me sit out those two reps.
I’ve got lots of recovery work to do in the training room, that’s for sure. After practice, I did our lifting set, then spent some time on one of the vibrating rods, just massaging out my calves and quads. I’d never done this before, but it felt good. I then went to the training room, hopped in the recovery compression boots, and rolled out for a while as well. Hopefully my calves can recover and get to normal!
After getting back home, we started watching Hamilton. I thought it was cool! An interesting musical that seemed so modern yet so old. It’d be interesting to see it in person for sure.
I didn’t see the whole thing, because I left to see my family! My parents are grandparents are in Logan so I was blessed to go hangout with them! That alone made my day a great day, but I’m stoked to hang out with them more tomorrow.
Feeling grateful for where I’m at right now, and excited for what’s in store!
