11/4/24 – Day 44- Secret Hitler

Woke up this morning, made a breakfast of toast, coffee, and yogurt, and headed to church!

Cameron picked me up for church, because we were trying out a new church today. It’s called Gospel Peace, and it’s the church that the leader of FCA attends.

We headed to church, and the sermon was great! The church vibes seemed very similar to College Church back home. Some recognizable worship songs, responsive reading, and offering were pretty similar. There were multiple ideas discussed that I really enjoyed, such as the fact that we are saved by grace rather than works, addressing sins are that “accepted” in society and how we should strive to live righteously during sketchy situations, and the story of Ruth and Boaz.

After the message, a lady got baptized outside! It was kinda crazy because it was freezing cold, and snow was all over the ground.

Then, the FCA Leader (Josh) invited all the FCA kids to go get lunch! We went to Chili’s, and it was a fun time, and good food. I’m grateful to have a small community like that.

After lunch, I headed home. I tried to do some homework, but I kept getting distracted and couldn’t get anything done.

Later that night, we had FCA! We talked about what we turn to when we are struggling (obviously the goal is scripture and God). I need to get better about diving into scripture. We then played some wiffleball, so that was fun.

When I got home, I played some Xbox with a bunch of the Davis Hall guys (Seth, Britt, Landon, Ivan). We then played a bunch of Secret Hitler, a really fun board game. I won 1/2 games. One of my roommates, Ryan, is super good at it and hasn’t even lost a game yet! It was a lot of fun, and always a good time with those guys.
