3/21/25 – Day 75 – Rager? I hardly know her

I’m writing this on Saturday morning, just because Friday was a hectic day.

I woke up Friday morning, ate a bowl of cereal, and quickly went to work studying for my accounting exam. I was very stressed and needed to do well! With that being said, I didn’t do that well, I got an 84%. I guess life goes on and we study harder next time, but it was a bummer.

After that mess, I felt obligated to do something remotely fun. Therefore, I wasted time playing phone games pretty much til practice.

Fast forward to practice, I prepare my weighterade for post lift (Gatorade+Weight protein powder), and head to the sports lounge. One of our coaches read off the workout groups, and surprisingly, I was with the 800 runners! I could believe it! That was all I had been wanting for a while, to do something on the track and get some speed.

However, our workout was relatively easy. I brought my bud light speaker (looks like a beer, but it’s a speaker) and the guys thought it was funny, so we ran with it, but the workout was short and sweet. Definitely not too fast, but I was grateful to even be on the track.

After we finished, we started our cooldown. Right as we were running by a bus stop, one of the Aggie shuttles pulled up. Naturally, we decided to hop on! This was the bus that would take us to the heart of campus, and thus up the hill. Once we got off, we were running through the quad, and we saw a disassembled snowman! We stopped and fixed it, giving it new life. This was followed by them kicking it over!

We continued running, but slowly ran by the Aggie Creamery. As a joke, I told the group I had Garmin pay, and we should go get ice cream. One of the other guys liked the idea, so we did! Kinda silly, but a very unique cooldown indeed.

We got back, and did the lift, but today the training room was closed, so after we were just gonna stretch and stuff at home.

Me and Ethan both weren’t hungry, but we decided to stop by a restaurant called J-Dawgs. It’s like a hot dog place, so not my typical dining experience, but it was actually really good, and they had gluten free buns!

When we got home, we showered and cleaned up and then prepared for swing dancing! There was a free swing dancing event in the center of all the dorm rooms (the Lundstrom Student Center). We pulled up, but there wasn’t a ton of people. Fortunately, with our group, it doesn’t matter who is there, and we have a great time anyways.

After we got tired of swing dancing (1.5 hours), we went to a different dance! Apparently the dance was called the Shamrock shuffle, so we all threw on green and got in cars, and started driving.

I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was at a place called Castle Manor, and it was a really cool venue. Right as we were pulling in, I learned it was an “institute” or Mormon dance. I then questioned my decision to go.

Walking inside, it was an interesting experience. So many people wearing green in this big floor, that if your friends went somewhere, it’d be hard to find them.

My friends were talking to their various Mormon friends, the PG music blasting. I went up to the top balcony to people watch, just because I didn’t want to get stuck in the mosh pit, touching random people and stuff. I’d always been more of a fun of actual dancing.

I spent most of the night just watching. I was fairly tired, so it just made sense. The castle was beautiful, and I was eating some fruit loops (there was a cereal bar)

Eventually, my friends got to me, and I headed down to the crazy dance. I figured I could do something remotely cool, then say I participated.

On one song, a small dance circle started to form. I wasn’t talking to girls throughout the night or anything (they were all members), and I was wearing a Shrek Beanie. Anyways, I hopped in the dance circle, and started doing the worm.

The volume in the room climaxed at this moment, and I instantly escaped the circle after.

After the DJ played the last song, we sprinted out of the building to escape for the rest of the people. When we got back, we were all in fair moods, so I played piano man on the piano, and Ethan played it on the harmonica, everyone singing along (10:30 PM). We finally returned upstairs, and ended the night by watching Rocky 2 (we watched Rocky the previous night), and eating no bake cookies that Merideth made.

I was starting to fall asleep towards the end, so I went to bed at roughly 1. Crazy day!
