Rocks.

Good afternoon!

I just finished my geology homework. Basically had to draw a bunch of rocks, and principles that help geologists. Super boring, but I poured my heart into it honestly. “Stratigraphic Principles” :/ . I’m done with homework and can enjoy the rest of the day though, which I am excited about.

My body is absolutely trashed. Yesterday we had a lift, then this morning we had a tempo workout (and it’s long run day). This means I went into the practice tired, and ran a 15 mile run (7 tempo avg 5:22 pace). I wore some shoes I had never worn before today, and I have mixed feelings. Before I get scolded, I didn’t purchase these shoes, they were free. The Brooks Hyperion Max 3s (work).

On the cooldown after the tempo, we passed by a house that had a table with a bunch of produce on it. There was a sign that said,” free, take anything and everything”. As a broke college student, this resonated with me very well.

That being said, the boys took a bunch of English cucumbers, squashes, and peppers, but I saw a real challenge…

Lying on the table was a zucchini. This zucchini probably was 2 40 oz water bottles long, and 1.5 40 oz water bottles thick. Picture just a massive massive zucchini. Without having much experience cooking zucchini, I figured a free one would be a good opportunity. I grabbed it, not thinking about the rest of the cooldown and journey to 15 miles.

With that being said, I carried it through the rest of our run. My 4 arms would burn if I tried to carry it with one hand, and it felt like holding a small rifle if I used both. So now I have a zucchini sitting on my table, waiting to be artfully crafted into a masterful dish.

Tonight the guys are all gonna go to “The Amp”. This is a spot a few of us discovered last spring, and so we are gonna really and get most of the team to go tonight.

To answer your question, the amp is an old abandoned amphitheater. There used to be some kind of boy camp there years ago, but it’s completely abandoned now. There are fire pits, a big stage, and just random things to explore. Last spring we found a bat in one of the pitch black cell rooms.

We are gonna go, chill, have a fire, play instruments and just vibe.

I’m gonna bring my Cajon and guitar, Ethan will bring his guitar and harmonica, Logan is bringing a fiddle, and it’s kinda just gonna be a fun night.

In the meantime, I’m gonna spend my day going frolfing, followed by some thrifting. I know right? Pretty solid day.

I’m proud of myself because this morning was the longest I’ve ever tempoed before. I learned I’m racing this weekend, which is exciting, but super nerve wracking. I’m just gonna pray and do my best, and God will do the rest.

I just ate three jalapeño cheddar corn dogs, so I should be good on food for the next hour, but I have some leftover chicken fajitas from last night that I can eat later tonight before The Amp.

I hope you all have a great Saturday, miss and love you guys.
