Business school is starting to get wild. The other day Brad said this, and I think it’s super true:
“You can get all As, but if you aren’t networking and building connections outside of class, you’re basically getting all C’s, whereas if you’re networking with people, and getting Bs, you’re pretty much getting As.“
The career expo is in a couple weeks! This is probably one of the biggest days of the semester for me, as it largely influences the internship I will get this summer. I’m gonna define it a little bit better so you will know what it is when I refer to it:
The career expo is a Huntsman event where a bunch of different firms, companies, and employers gather inside the building with desks, and share information about their companies. For this event, Huntsman students dress up nice, bring catered resumes (and researched minds) and basically elevator pitch all these brand about their own personal stories, and why this would be good for a job/internship.
In preparation for this, I have been grinding on my resume, LinkedIn, and am starting to get ready in terms of actual preparation through preparing my elevator pitch and researching specific firms.
It’s a lot! Especially in addition to classes, with it not being a requirement (but it kinda is), it’s a lot of work. Tonight I will go to a career expo prep workshop to get ready.
Aside from that, this morning we had a workout! It was tough. Just a final tune up before the race this week I guess, but a lot of people struggled.
Last night I went to bed at 9:30, but slept like crap and somehow managed to get only 7 hours of sleep. Frustrating when I do what I can to fall asleep, and it doesn’t work out.
Lately I’ve been taking magnesium, vitamin c, multivitamins, and creatine, and I’m going to start taking collagen (got it free from work) soon to help with tendon recovery and growth/injury prevention.
I’m sitting in my History of Jazz class listening to Louis Armstrong right now, which is a cool change of pace for me.
Last update of the day, my scooter comes today! I’m excited to be back on the roads, but I’m gonna be super super careful this time of round, and take really good care of it. I have to try and work on my other scooter when I can, I just haven’t had time yet. I also need to change the headlights on my car I just haven’t gotten to it yet.
With the race coming up, I ask that you pray for me. Pray that I can race for God’s glory rather than myself, and not worry about the outcome. Let me know if I can pray for you in any ways!
