My new scooter came last night! It glides, super smooth ride. It’s awesome, and I am officially BACK! Along with that, electric scooters have gotten way more popular on campus this year. Straight up, I think I started a revolution, because they are everywhere.
I know what you’re thinking- and don’t worry, this scooter is safer. Plus, I don’t take it on sport mode, so it’s much more controlled, smoother, and less prone to crashing.
I’m going to try and order some new parts and fix my old scooter. I’ll keep you posted.
Later today, we are going to leave for the meet! I’m excited to tear it up, but very nervous of course. Lately I’ve been going to bed at 9:30 or 10, and have been committed to drinking a bunch of water- I’m hoping these small changes can pay dividends during the race.
Because I haven’t had the scooter the past week, I have raked up steps on Garmin. There was a day or two where I was above 30,000! Wild.
I’m currently in my jazz class, taking notes, and just chillin.
I’m gonna apply to the local fire ice cream shop, Charlie’s. It is my favorite ice cream shop in Logan, and one of my friends told me they were hiring. I’ll let you know if anything comes of it.
Speaking of Charlie, Charlie Kirk has been the talk of every conversation on campus yesterday and today. Obviously it’s a big deal, especially here in Utah and with college kids, but it’s pretty scary. The thought that I could be listening to someone saying something controversial, or say something controversial myself, and got assassinated is pretty wild. I imagine this will be a pretty historical event in hindsight, and I’m curious to see what negative things come from this embarrassing blip of American history. Someday I will read this blog when I’m adult, and feel some emotions about it then too.
I’m curious to see how my political views change as I grow up, but right now I definitely see myself on the anti-gun side of things.
Today I will skip my bowling class, to make sure I’m packed up and ready to go for this trip (even though it’s one day). I’m gonna hop in the normatec boots for 20 minutes, drop my resume off at Charlie’s, get some calf treatment, and I also have to take a hydration test.
Funny story actually- we now have to do hydration tests the day before we race. I basically have to pee in a cup, and they’ll tell me if I’m hydrated, semi-hydrated, or de-hydrated based on the color/acidity or something. Last time, I was semi-hydrated, and they gave me a liquid IV! Nice liquid IV hack, I guess.
The team has almost made it a contest, we call it “The Piston Cup”. The name still cracks me up honestly, a very funny pun. The person who’s the most hydrated wins. Every know and then someone will play some theme from “Cars” too. Last time, Garrett won, but his pee was blue. That sounds pretty crazy, let me explain.
He took some supplements that he got on campus for free (not steroids), and for some reason they make people’s pee blue. He was hydrated; so not a big deal, but pretty funny. Kinda adding onto that, after the home meet, he was puking blue fluid, and so everyone kept asking him if he was just chugging Powerade, but it was just because of the supplement he took. He told me that when he peed that day, it would just look like someone cleaned the toilet because the liquid was so blue.
Enough about urine, that’s pretty much all the info I got today. I probably won’t write a blog tomorrow, I’ll be busy with the meet, then homework, but maybe I’ll crank something out.
Have a good day!
