Yesterday was a total side quest.
I woke up, ran a few miles in the morning with Ethan, then hopped on an elliptical for a bit, got some fueling station breakfast, showered, then headed to my intro to film class 15 minutes late, because I had to get a suit on for my Mr. USU interview later that afternoon. I looked pretty dripped out, not going to lie.
2001: A Space Odyssey might be the worst movie I’ve seen in my life. I wouldn’t recommend taking an intro to film class.
After that class, I ran into my friends coming out of the library, talked to them for a second, and went to meet with some guys before my next class, BUS3200, to go over an assignment. I then went to that class, followed by my next class, FIN3200. We are learning how to use excel in financial settings, pretty much.
After that class, I went to my interview.
It was in the TSC, the student center, and the guy asked me my questions, I answered them, and then they asked me to do a few other things. I had to dance for 10 seconds, say my name, etc.
On one shot, I held one of Meredith’s books on feminism, so hopefully that small performative male gig will help me in the long run.
After the interview, I went to the marketplace to work on homework, and eat plenty of food. I had a burger, a Philly cheese stake (no bun), fries, ice cream, cereal, some salmon, and lots of chocolate milk. Once I was stuffed full, and tired of doing homework, I went downstairs to the lobby of the TSC, where there was a live jazz “jam” sesh.
It was super cool- they played lots of jazz standards, a few that I recognized, and my intro to jazz teacher is incredible at the bass. It was cool to see people enjoying the music, and having a good time. It made me really want to learn jazz instrument, or join a jazz band. I felt grateful and blessed to have that experience.
At this point, it was 8’ o clock. My friends wanted to go to a free swing dance activity, so I said, why not!
I change out of my suit into a nice pearl snap shirt and boots, and we head down. Nothing crazy happened here, just learned a move or two, and danced with my friends.
Today I woke up, read my Bible, and headed to the feeding trough for breakfast (that’s what we call the fueling station sometimes). I then went up to study hall, (I have no required hours this year), and have done some work. I just got 49/50 on a quiz, and both my classes got cancelled today. I plan on going to Charlie’s (ice cream store) to drop off my resume (I’ve wanted to for a long time) and then bowling a little extra today.
Later tonight, I’ll go to practice, then to Mr. USU dance practice. I’m completing too many side quests right now, and we will see how my body holds up, but I know the memories will last me for life.
Tomorrow is the career expo- a day I’ve been prepping for all week. I’ll keep you posted on if I hit it off with any employers or land an internship.
This weekend, I have a few options which I haven’t decided on yet. I could:
• Head home, spend quality time with my family, collect clothes for the cold winter that is approaching, and enjoy time back in the Namptons.
- Go to Teton National Park with Thomas and other guys
- Stay in Logan, and have a more relaxed weekend. Landon Bott is getting some guys and they are gonna have an invitation only sleepover in the locker room Saturday night, which I could go too.
Let me know if you have any thoughts or ideas. I’m kinda just trying to juggle everything on my plate right now, but I know next week will be less busy. Love you all!
