My body is feeling tired, my legs are sore, the dex is the dex, and I’m in my 8 AM as we speak. Guess this is college!
Last night there was a drunk guy on my wing of Ford Hall. It was sad, but pretty funny. A couple of us were watching Cars 2, and he busts in the door, says all kinda crazy stuff, then just jumps on a random guys lap. He saw that I was (suction) cupping my legs, and he grabbed a cup and stuck it on his nipple. A second later, he ripped it off and yelled that it hurt, when I warned him that it would. That kid is messed up!
In all of my classes, I have at least 1 friend I can sit by. What a blessing! There were plenty of classes in Utah I took on by my own! In particular, I share many classes with my teammate and friend Tim. I found out yesterday that Tim is a 5-point Calvinist! Yuck! Just kidding. He’s fairly well-versed and biblically supported but I don’t agree with his beliefs and personally definitely align a little more with Arminianism.
Yesterday, we had our first chapel session. It was cool to see a body of students all worshipping together, and enjoying some quality time in His Presence. The president of NNU preached about gratitude and belonging, and I enjoyed his sermon!
My academic advisor, and a teacher I have two classes with, Dr. Konya Weber, reminds me a lot of Mrs. Luce. She sounds and acts just like her!
Had my first workout during practice yesterday (with Grady and Ian). My goal was to show coach (and the team) that I mean business. I would say it was done well. We also had a team meeting, talking about school starting off, the meet, etc.. One of our athletic trainers is battling cancer for the second time so please pray for her.
After practice we went to the dex, then we played some fortnite. It was a good time.
That’s really all I got for today. I wish I had some more fun updates, about girls, or crazy lore, but I think most of the glory of college takes place in the ordinary. The growth, learning, and maturity probably mostly comes from the dogged, ordinary, and sometimes difficult everyday life.
